Neurological Disorders

Headache-Migraine

Migraine is a complex disorder characterized by recurrent headache attacks, mostly unilateral and in some cases associated with visual or sensory symptoms (aura). Migraine is most common in women and has a strong genetic component.

Polyneuropathy-Neuropathic pain

It is defined as "pain caused by a lesion or disease of the somatosensory nervous system".
Various lesions in the peripheral or central nervous system can cause neuropathic pain characterized by persistent or intermittent burning, tingling or penetrating pain. Common causes include diabetes, stroke, herpes zoster, trigeminal neuralgia, and nerve entrapment syndromes.

 Dizziness

Dizziness/vertigo is among the most common symptoms (as common as backaches and headaches) that cause patients to seek medical attention. Falling can be a direct result of dizziness in the general population, and the risk is even greater in older people with other neurological deficits and chronic medical problems.

Movement Disorders-Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson's disease is one of the most common neurological disorders, affecting approximately 1% of individuals older than 60 years of age and causing progressive disability that can be slowed but not stopped with treatment.

Slowing of movements, trembling in the hands, falling attacks, sleep behavior disorders are among the common symptoms.

Dementia- Alzheimer's Disease

It is a neurodegenerative disease that causes significant damage to social and occupational functionality and is often detected with cognitive and behavioral impairment. Due to the long pre-clinical period and progressive course, there are approaches that can only slow down the process after diagnosis.

Cerebrovascular Diseases - Ischemic Stroke

Ischemic stroke is characterized by a sudden loss of blood circulation in one area of the brain, resulting in a corresponding loss of neurological function (loss of strength, visual/speech impairment, etc.). Acute ischemic stroke is caused by thrombotic or embolic (with a clot) occlusion of a cerebral artery (brain vessel) and is more common than hemorrhagic  (due to bleeding) stroke.

Sleep Disorders

Sleep disorders are among the most common clinical problems in neurology and psychiatry. Insufficient or non-restorative sleep can significantly impair the patient's quality of life. Sleep disorders may be primary or result from a variety of psychiatric and medical conditions.

Primary sleep disorders result from an endogenous disorder in sleep-wake-inducing or timing mechanisms, often complicated by behavioral conditioning.

Epilepsy-Seizure

Epilepsy is defined as a brain disorder characterized by a persistent predisposition to produce epileptic seizures and the neurobiological, cognitive, psychological and social consequences of this condition. It is the fourth most common neurological disorder in the world.
